Little joke of the day

Any gentleman will always usher (unwillingly?) the ladies to sit inside or at cushion seats while they take the stiff wooden/metal seats at the outside. This is always the case when guys go out with girls (on a date or in a big group).

So what happens when guys go out with guys?

Bf: Eh, so when you go out with your gf, your gf sit inside right?
Friend: Ya duh. You?
Bf: Same loh, that's why got chance I want to sit inside too. (Apparently he always auto sit inside when he's out with this friend of his)
Friend: Fyou I also right! You also don't let me sit inside!

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Seriously, this shit is so funny that I'm laughing while typing. <':

Jun tea pick - T637 Imperial Pu-Erh

T637 - Imperial Pu-Erh, S$11.50 for 50 grams

Well, before I began this post, gotta give credits to dearest bf for once again, subsidizing my tea of the month! It totally slipped my mind until he reminded me, and also paid for me whilst he went and grab Ti Kuan Yin (super nice I swear). I'm considering to get the superior one soon (a little more ex) because I'm running out of this tea. It's a sign of how much I adore it haha.

Okay, one of my next favorite in the bag. One tricky thing about this tea is the duration you brew it. Longer means thicker and sometimes it's a little too much to handle. This tea should be in the bag for tea lovers because, how can you dislike pu-erh?

This tea is probably the most common tea served in almost all restaurants so if you're always patronizing such restaurants, you probably can give this a skip.

Jun food hunt - Geylang 126

Even months are his pick, and this is my recommendation!
Just realized, it's thrice in a row of my recommendations too! Hehe.
This is worth every penny despite being S$3.50.
Crab meat sauce and mantou

This is perhaps the worse dish from them. We ordered cause we thought the sauce might be a wow factor (good for people who love chilli crab sauce but not wanting to eat the crab), but it turned out that the mantou was way even more disappointing than the sauce. Confirm plus chop this is the most disgusting mantou I've ever had. Come'on, I bet they can produce much better ones.

This is still the best. *slurps*

Perhaps I'm always the one who think so highly of mine and his stomach size. We ordered this much, which was equivalent to the table of four beside us? LOL. Heng we managed to finish it up.

He then took me on a walk about Geylang, which was rather unpleasant. Geylang is one of the most unfamiliar and rather scary places to be in, and I get chills from stares of guys. I feel as though they're giving me a run-down from just one second of eye contact. Am I the only one who feels this way? Well, it was an eye-opener to see gambling dens everywhere. Illegal, he said. I remembered the closest I ever been in Geylang was when I'm in Primary school and my dad drove his taxi about all the Lorong lanes to let us experience safely.

Back to the main point of this post. I've been to Geylang 126 once already, and would definitely revisit over and over again! Honestly I think this dim sum is better than Swee Choon, since I'm not a fan of liu-sha-bao.

I wonder if next month would it be my recommendation or his? I want to break record! *Fingers crossed*

May food hunt - Sunset Grill & Pub @ Jln Kayu

One month delayed in my '12 months of food hunt'. What to do? Work is busy as hell and I need every other little time to find comfort in my current lifestyle. Not sure if I'm liking it this way, but sooner than later, I may just crash? Pray not.

--- Sidetracking ---

The name already suggests sunset, so we gotta burn the noon right? Where to? To the pool! Enjoying the life of a fresh grad, no more exams and no work still. Little pleasures in life.

Fat face us.

--- End of sidetracking ---

Must try buffalo wings!
(Up to level 33 I think, but we got level 3 only)
With wings, beer is a must! Haha, time for some beer *rubs belly* ~
Read the menu wrongly, from burger became toast. 'Looks can be deceiving' did not work for this dish.
DO NOT EVER ORDER!

I'd go back for the wings, but I heard that as the level gets higher, the wings get more sour and spicy. The sour does not complement the wings, so for those who are in solely for the wings (not hall of spicy fame challenge), level 1-3 would be perhaps the better choice to go along with.

As for the mains ......... don't waste your money. For the exorbitant price they charge, you can get the same dish in proper, convenient, good rating restaurants. Pasta was near S$20?!?! The prawns weren't fresh too and the noodles they seriously use chilli padi as the main seasoning. No kiddin'.

As for desserts, we went to get the taohuey right down the road. Old school taohuey with sugar water. Not the laoban kind, if you get what I mean. Yummy! I think the taohuey was more of the highlight than any other dishes of the night. And I missed out taking a shot of it. Oh wells.

Bang bang into the sky

Happy 36th bby!

Guess how are we gonna celebrate this year?

National Shooting Centre
*Bang bang*
(Real gun and ammo, no kiddin' I can kill a person haha)
Ammunitions
Empty cases
Practice shooting (two rounds)
The real shit is, you have to aim for the flying disk. All the disks will land approx. at bald patch of grass at the back.
Doubt you can even see the flying disk, but yay to double shots!!

It a pretty cool experience but obviously not cheap too. S$78 per pax with 25 rounds (bullets) to shoot. See, not cheap right haha. He was seriously praying that he would come home alive because he heard that a guy died because the girl was so happy that she hit the target and misfired at him. Lol.

First time touching a live gun, shooting it etc., completely different from movies. Firstly, the gun was really heavy. 3 kg! *Salute* to the army guys carrying 7 kg guns. I think I was only at my 10th round and I couldn't hold it up anymore. The instructor had to hold for me for the last few rounds, and he also told my bf I wouldn't be able to handle another 25 rounds. Weak die me, I know. Secondly, the sound was so loud that it made me jumped so many times before I get accustomed to it. Thirdly, the recoil is no joke. My cheek was left internally bruised. Lastly, I'm right handed but with left dominant eye. Meaning, I need to constantly remember to shut my left eye to aim straight. I kept closing the wrong eye I think, that's why one moment I aimed too left, and the next moment, too right. Haha.

Maybe I should train up my poor arms, because they were crazy sore for a few days after this exhausting outing. That explained why there's no video of him because my hands were too shag to hold my phone up. Haha. Thanks bf for the treat and hehe I'm going to bring my dad along for the experience next time too! (:

Belated gathering

As belated as the meetup, here's the very super duper insanely delayed post (event happened weeks ago). Whoopsy.

So we gathered to celebrate Lydia's belated birthday (very very belated haha). Headed over to Dover (behind SP) to eat zichar. Qm was super hilarious. She's the only one who knew how to reach that zichar place, so we followed her. First, we ran after the bus but missed it. Secondly, it was an abandoned bus stop where no buses would stop! Thirdly, we boarded the wrong bus and had to walk crazy long to the makan place. Oh my gosh, Qm!!!

Obviously we all eat zichar before, but we never ever had that for our meetups before. Unbelievable right? Haha. For the first time, we abandoned air-con restaurant environment for meetups, and succumbed to the uncle-auntie meetup place. Not bad for a change. Food was good, dirt cheap too, and we had a great laugh at our nonsensical bloopers. Must be the food, damage our speaking/hearing ability. E.g. 'How's life' became 'Houseflies'. LOL.

Because Starbucks toilet was a little too gross, Alida, Kj, bf and I went on a little toilet-hunting. Bf brought us to take a lift up to level 3 to enter Rochester Mall, only to find that the door was locked. Not so bad right? What if the lift doesn't come up? Take stairs? What if the stairs no lights? What if we only have a phone but it doesn't contain our friends' number? That was what happened to us!!!!! Kj and I straight away turned around and said we're not going down the stairs. Alida and bf were like 'we hold hand go down lah and we have one phone with flashlight'. Damn hilarious! Turned out the lights have sensor, which made us more relieved. Though, the stairs were still pretty frightening. We managed to get to the toilet on level 2, heng ah. But no more excursions. No more.

The night ended way too short. We had tons of fun in playing 'Heads Up', then running after cabs to avoid midnight charge haha. You girls are irreplaceable. <3

Meiji Run

Last year, right after my exams, we went for Sundown Marathon. This year, I managed to snag a pair of free tickets to Meiji Run from 987 fm. No marathon, but just a short 5 km run at Sentosa and Meiji buffet for post-run. Free food!

I told my bf I'd only run in this sort of events only when it's free. He was like, 'No, you remember your first race Nike 10 km? *Short pause* Oh I paid for it. But you also run army half marathon. *Pause* Oh, you used my officer's bib. Sundown! *Pause* We won the free entry.' Yep, why pay to run? Not my cup of tea. Only if its free then I would. Haha.

First exercise after many months! Finally. But the run was horrible. So humid. I'm so glad its at Sentosa so I ran in my sports bra else I swear I would faint from the heat. Never going to run at Sentosa ever. I hate the sand. )':

Enough of me blabbering. Photos below!

I am dressed in cow. Mooooooo. LOL.
The buffet tents
Many cows ahead hahahaha.
Plants vs Zombie :o is his statement face haha.
Yay we finished in approx. 40 mins I think?
Spotted my Tuesday couple!
Hello Panda biscuits
Very wise of the event management to forbid people to bring any Meiji food out of the buffet area. I saw MANY people dabaoing all the snacks and it made me roll my eyes so badly. Shame on you, cheapskates.

Both of us weren't cheapskate but we got stopped too. He didn't finish his bowl of Hello Panda. We took two Yam Yam to eat later (seemed like a new flavor so we wanted to try). Plus I wasn't feeling too good from the heat couldn't consume the milk on the spot. In the end, we returned the snacks and I drank my milk (never say no to milk!). Haha, but not so bad like the rest of the cheapo people.

Honestly, the buffet spread was so uncalled for. How could one consume solid food right after a workout? For sure not me.

Meiji Fair! Cheap cheap, five dollars! And the greedy him couldn't resist. (':

Overall, I'm impressed regarding how the buffet worked and the fair too. Quite orderly. They split the race into loads of waves. We were the 9th wave at 5.20 pm, but we started at 4.30 pm because no one stopped us. I didn't believe him and dragged out the time, if not we'd have started at 4.10 pm together with my friend.

Definitely an eye-opener for these fun runs. Not liking it but hey this was free! Actually I also quite cheapo haha.

Tulipmania @ Gardens By The Bay

Throwback to Good Friday! I remembered I felt really burnt out and suffocated by non-stop studying and needed a little break to breathe again, so this awesome guy planned a bunch of things to do, but in the end we only managed to complete one to-dos on his list, which I'm already so touched by. Thank you for your efforts and also endless support during the whole April and May. And also all the bubble tea deliveries. <3

It's our second trip to Gardens by the Bay, but this time it's for Tulipmania. The normal me for sure would think this was a total waste of money because the Tulips weren't fully opened or already wilted, and the rest of the plants we've seen it previously. But I needed this. I felt so much better after this trip. Thank you.

Tulipmania

They had sections with the fairy tales, but I couldn't comprehend why. Some of the princesses I didn't even know. Perhaps they weren't even one?

This reminded me about the history of finance. Did you know tulips were also used to trade like a stock back in the olden days? Until the bubble burst. Interesting topic, I would say. Now I sound so knowledgeable. *Smirk*

So many colors!!
This would be a beautiful sight if all tulips were opened.
Love cactus
Took this photo at exactly the same spot as previous time. (:
Breathtaking sunset which left me feeling really happy.
