Nespresso private event @ Royal Albatross

Back in March, we went for the 'cruise' ride for the limited edition preview for Nespresso. I don't even know this event existed till my dearest coffee lover bf signed it up for me. We thought we weren't allowed to bring partners, but apparently we could, so we brought along my mom and brother along for the ride.

And I forgot about posting this totally ..... Whoops.

The event was a really nice experience, but boring. It was about four hours long cruise ride, and there's really nothing much to do on it other than drink coffee or eat the bites they've prepared. I wasn't into fresh seafood, so the only food I could eat was the steak, but it was the nicest steak I've ever tasted!!

At the same time, his action was caught by the official photographer!
Seemed like he was acting cute from this angle. Haha!

Thank you Royal Albatross & Nespresso for the experience!

New travel mug

Have you ever feel like 'I just have to spend money!!'? Precisely what I'm struggling with everyday now that I'm confined indoors with nothing but books to occupy my time. With work, it's isn't that bad because I get to breathe fresh air to and fro daily. Besides, half my day is already wasted getting business done and not over-thinking about life. Get it get it?

The thing that the world doesn't feel: Students do actually contribute a ton to the economy, be it with or without purchasing power. T.T

Since bf and I only spend our days out in town else at home, he always insists we go by Nespresso for free cuppa coffee (using the argument that I always pop in to Sephora). That's where I finally caved in and bought something for myself. Apparently the way I earned myself a membership wasn't because I bought things for myself. Tt's because of you-know-who. Maybe one day this you-know-who might cave in and buy something in Sephora for himself? Haha!

Citiz Travel - S$28

Been eyeing this gorgeous from idk how many months back. I admit, my weak spot is on things that are shiny. Heh. This mug is double-walled, so it aids in keeping a hot drink hot and a cold drink cold. Which is awesome since I always get frustrated over cold tea. The top part isn't double-walled which is why it only helps keeping drinks hot for 3 to 4 hours? Not that I'm complaining since I always buy things by appearance than functionality. Oh, and double-wall also means that you won't scald your hands just by holding. Lastly, the most important feature, this mug does not leak no matter how you toss it in the bag!! Really is just everything I need.

Hmm, in case you're wondering, the last thing that I'm probably going to hold in the mug is coffee. Contradicting to world's end because Nespresso is a coffee brand! Lol.

I used to want Starbucks' tumbler but it got to a point whereby I couldn't justify the price for what it's worth, even if it comes with a free drink. Pretty designs but the functionality is not there at all. Because, they do leak. Anyways Starbucks has become too expensive. 300 points to get gold and get 1 free drink, before you can commence the 60 points get 1 free drink. Wtf, you need to buy 50 drinks  (spend S$300) first!?! Last time it used to be just buy 12 drinks free 1. Ridiculous much.

I'll try my best not to lose this mug while I bring it on-the-go! *Fingers crossed*

Nespresso Variations 2014 (Limited Edition)

Initially I thought it was Nespresso who sent out an invite to my bf because of his loyalty, guess not. It was Nespresso who posted something to the members and whoever's interested would have to RSVP and then you get the invite, first come first served basis. Simply put, self-invite. Not that I'm complaining. Just sharing information.

The three variations for this event: Hazelnut Dessert, Chocolate Mint and Apple Crumble. The intensity level is at 6. The recipes are Hazelnut Cream, Hazelnut Crunchy Cappuccino, Chocolate Mint Cappuccino, Chocolate Mint Iced Latte, Apple Crumble Gourmand, and Apple Crumble Latte Macchiato. The two which attracted my attention were, in bold. But they weren't served in the event, boo hoo. Bf said the nicest was Hazelnut so for those nuts lover, you have a winner. I hate hate hate hazelnuts, ewwwww.

Chef speaking about his variations in the desserts.
One of the delights he was talking about, lollipop ice-cream - Dark Choc / Milk Choco!
I adore the idea, too cute but the flavor tasted weird in my opinion. But bf loved it so meaning it's good.
Freebie in the bag! Macarons from Grand Hyatt.
Bf thought there's gonna be free capsules of the limited variations, but this was so much better value than those haha!
Last but not least, free photo from the event!!
(Actually we're not so typical Singaporean to want the photo but they approached us, so ...)
