Valentine's 2015 ... (Continued)

I know I know, I also think that my February 14 day is sort of endless? This is the last bit I promise!

After the Navy Show, we returned to my house for mahjong session. Why are guys more itchy handed than us girls? Apparently my sister's husband and my bf was really enthu about it. My bf is improving tremendously! Though he still lost ($9 only) in the end, he managed to game a few times too! My mom is our jinx, really. Initially my sister was playing, bf and I gamed quite a few rounds. Then when my mom took over, we kept losing! ): Luckily my previous earnings was enough to recoup the losses so I ended up with no gain / loss.

The reason why we were all recalled back to home was ......

Second 'louhei' of the year (not the last for sure) and thankfully my family was more graceful. My chopsticks stayed with me till the end! Gotta give credits to my sister for plating the dish, though I seriously think her plating imagination needs so much more inspiration & improvement.

Funny thing is that all the abalone in the house is actually gifts from sister's husband's family & my bf's family. Good to be a girl eh? We get goodies every year. Just kidding. But really, our family never buys abalone, but we can't ever seem to finish the cans ..... Thank you uncles & aunties & bfs & sis's husband for doting on us!!

Valentine's 2015

Today is just another day, said every other person but they still spend loads of $ to celebrate today. It's not like we didn't before. We just feel that that's unjustifiable anymore (unless for really special occasion like Christmas). You don't need to eat really atas food / receive very expensive gifts to make it a memorable v'day. It's more of what you do and who you spend it with. Thus this guy came out with going to the Navy Battleship Tour which he managed to get the ballot.

Ps: Apparently the ballot is useless because this is actually open to public. Tickets can be obtained in Vivo. Haha someone got cheated!!

As continued from the previous post, we trained down to Vivo to experience something new. I agreed to go out of curiosity and because I know guys are attracted to such things. Boy, I'm so darn right.

Wow it's like boarding a cruise!! Exciting!

We actually wanted to go for the express boat ride (free) but ran out of time.

The battleship was rather cramp inside and the steps were ridiculously steep. Now I know why they warned all females not to wear dresses / skirts. And I would have knocked my head hard on the wall lights if not for the cushion they secured. Yes, it's that cramp! But this is such an awesome experience!! So awesome that now I probably wouldn't want to join navy (not that I'm even thinking about it). Haha. I would have fell down the stairs or get multiple concussions before I even get to protect my country.

Sidetracking, I actually bumped into one of my Poly friends, and it was very awkward cause I couldn't remember his name!! And he was so mean too, refusing to acknowledge my presence till I asked. And I was quite dumb not to notice all army guys have their name sewn on their shirt. Anyways, thank you for the help in giving us the free shirt (for bf only though)!

I wanted something else too but I was too embarrassed to ask him for more, so we went outside to try to earn some points. Failed badly though. The only thing we did was packing field pack ... and roaming around. Gave up in the end because all the simulation games were ridiculously long!

Ended up taking photos around because I've never been to SAF show. And this MP bike is so cool! Not so cool with the two photobombers in the background.

Feb food hunt - Lola's Cafe @ Simon Road

Geez, already halfway through February! Can you believe that Chinese New Year is coming in less than a week? I am so looking forward to the long break and already not even focusing on working. How can anyone still be in the mood for work?

For this month, it's his turn to draw. We purposely set this food hunt to be on the famous February 14, aka Valentine's Day, aka Friendship Day. Why? Saves us some $ from splurging on expensive meals. This is definitely helping in making our pocket friendly each month! We're both splendidly pleased in making a small step to improve on our expenditure.

It's his pick and his recommendation! WHY NOT MINE? BOOHOO.

Perhaps it's because we went on the weekend and it's also the v'day, this place was crazily packed! We waited for about 45 mins before we got a table. And by the time we finished, the people queuing behind us were still waiting. I think it's because we gobbled up our meal lol.

There was this couple who came and tried to fool their way to get a seat in the cafe? They said they made a reservation, but when the waiter asked them to present the confirmation email (because their name wasn't on the list they had), they couldn't. Then they said they didn't know that the reservation didn't get through. WHAT BULLSHIT PLEASE. However the waiter was pretty smooth and explained that perhaps there's a glitch in the system yada yada, but because currently it's peak hour, he couldn't let up a table for them. QUEUE UP SUCKERS. Fucking ridiculous couple. Can I also mention that the female's makeup was so thick-hooch-y and the guy had a failed dressing? Stupid beng and lian. -.-

How did we guess they were trying to smoke their way in? Normally if you really did book and it's for a special occasion, you'd make a huge fit or have drastic expressions when you realized it's all screwed right? Their faces were calm and they just walked away and ate at coffee shop. Fucking hate this kind of typical Singaporeans. Shame on you big time!

Tip: Make a reservation & do check you've received a confirmation email (common sense right!).

The nacho cheese fries was damn sex I swear! So glad we got the cheese fries instead of truffle. The main was nice as well, especially the pork sausage! Though I could do with better scrambled eggs. This is in the list of 'Must Return Again' cafes. Major *thumbs up*!!

Overall, the experience was fantastic (much better than Jan's) despite queuing with a growling stomach. Thank you bf for the treat and our v'day part two is coming right up!!

He came over to drop this off while I was out to have dinner with my friends. So sweet! Or not. Because he don't want to carry on v'day itself (because I'd have made him do the slavery work haha)! Hmphs!!!!

Now I own something from 'The Line' hahaha. Thank you bf! & my mom is nagging because I have so many plushies!
